Dang!  Thank you, Nelson.  It means I either have to rethink how
to test a hierarchical archive, or not test it.  The latest bug
was an old bug revealed when someone was sharing up ".".  Probably
just not test the archive file, but test that the unrolled archive
is the same as the original.  More likely than not, everything
works fine, except that the test only works on my filesystem type.
