Thanks to Stepan Kasal and Bob Pruolx for their replies.
In Mac OS X to install an .app you drag it to the Application
Folder and to uninstall it you drag it to the Trash Folder
and then emty Trash. Spotlight is a small app that finds files
on the computer, sort of like using the locate command
in Terminal but seems to be limited in what it reports. I used it to
find any remaining files ater 'uninstalling' Fink and then
deleted the ones that came up. There is obviously more that
were not found, so I recently tried locate fink in the Terminal
and I got this: /usr/share/zsh/4.2.3/functions/_fink
I'm not sure what it is, especially with the underscore before
the file name and I don't want to mess with /usr stuff anyway,
so I just left it alone instead of removing it.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Larry
