Hello,
   macro AM_PROG_CC_STDC was obsoleted in Automake 1.8.*.
Since it seems that you are not using it directly (it was there only
because the following AM_C_PROTOTYPES needed it), I think you can safely
remove it.

No, it haven't caused any actual bug.  It just adds a second expansion
of AC_PROG_CC, making the configure bigger.
