idutils-4.0rc1 release available on alpha

GNU id-utils

'id-utils' is a collection of programs to generate and
query an ID database, for really fast searching of
identifiers (but not only) scattered in various source
files.

id-utils-4.0rc1 release is available on alpha:

ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/id-utils/

and is a candidate for the next id-utils stable
release.

Changes since the previous id-utils-4.0 alpha release
include fixes for bugs and portability issues,
integration of the long standing perl support patch
and i18n updates.

Changes since latest stable 3.2 version include an up
to date build system using recent versions of the
autotools, and the newest modules from gnulib.

I encourage anyone interested in the id-utils to
download and test this release, and report
functionality and portability problems encountered.
