...still doesn't work, because 'snprintf' != 'gawk_snprintf'. I am guessing there should be a '#define snprintf gawk_snprintf' somewhere? Anyway adding that (around '#ifndef HAVE_SNPRINTF') in awk.h seems to have done the trick, at least as far as being able to link. I started 'make check', don't know how long it will take on this slow box.
