This guy wasted already one hour of my time by asking me the same question
and not listening to my explanations. His understanding of copyright law
should not be relevant to Debian, since he is not a lawyer (as he said
himself).

If Debian as a distribution has problems with some files in GNU gettext,
please get back to me, explain the problems, and present constructive
proposals.

If Debian as a distribution has no problems with files in GNU gettext,
please keep that discussion in your "legal department" and don't waste
developers' time with legal issues.
