Hi. I'm reading the excellent Diffutils manual (version 2.8.1, 5 April
2002), online at www.gnu.org as of this morning (9 April 2007). I have
a suggestion.
In
http://www.gnu.org/software/diffutils/manual/html_mono/diff.html#Detailed%20diff3%20Normal
, in the section labeled "file:rc", is the sentence:
> The range r is a comma-separated pair of line numbers, or just
> one number if the range is a singleton.
Although "the range is a singleton" is a precise description, I wonder
whether everyone reading this manual will understand it. ("Singleton"
is a term I learned while I was studying Computer Science; I hadn't
heard it before.) I'd like to suggest rewriting the sentence this way:
> The range r is a comma-separated pair of line numbers, or just
> one number if there's only one line.
Thanks again for this excellent documentation!
Jerry
