I haven't looked into it in detail, but I don't see where the "16" is
coming from yet.
It seems the 16 is generated by echo output the returned value from
printf in prog.php.
The following change (hack?) fixes (worksaround?) the problem. I am not
familiar enough with php to know what the right solution is.
