Correct, it was my fault (as I had already indicated in the `Subject:'
line). I had been visiting the `ThomasSchwinge.txt' file using `less',
which didn't display the CR characters.

It's on a GNU/Linux system.
As gawk is doing the right thing, there is nothing you'd have to fix with
respect to that. My email essentially was a
got-unexpexted-output-thought-I'd-tell-you-about-it one. For posterity.
Or whatever.
