Thank you for reposting to the appropriate place. Unfortunately, it
seems I'm unable to subscribe to the ML (I'm not receiving the
confirmation email) so I'll reply here on the gnu.utils.bug Usenet
newsgroup.

However, I found nothing in ChangeLog{,-200{6,7,8}} that would indicate
a bug fix in that area (BTW, it'd be nice if it could be possible to
download just the big changelog from the ftp.gnu.org site, unless I've
missed it).

I'm a bit wary of installing a different version than what my
distribution provides for such essential software.
