Keeping in mind that in the second example, ‘books about Linux’ should
probably not be fixed:

1. Repeating GNU/Linux in the same sentence is unnecessary and somewhat
   inelegant
2. More to the point, as opposed to distributions, the books referred to
   are more often than not about ‘Linux’ rather than ‘GNU/Linux’
