Seconded.  "accumulate" and "accumulated" seem to be in common usage here in 
the USA, particularly in the north where it gets widely used in the media with 
regard to snowfall amounts; I've never seen "cumulate" used outside of an 
Econ-101 textbook.  Checking Google suggests a 30:1 frequency ratio of the two 
words....
