That's clear so far :) Motif is Motif and available everywhere. I just don't have the Motif variants built. If the code is also present in the Motif area (I just did a quick grep - it is), you should fix it there, too, if neccessary/applicable.
I'm not at all satisfied with the (GTK only!) GUI layout and code at the moment. If I dig deeper into the code and finally understand it one day, I might have the time to rewrite it, starting with the Q manager and XR, which are probably the most used components.
Another option, to not touch the distributed code if you don't want, would be a "3rd party" GUI that just uses the official APIs and that ships as separate code.
Both options assume I'll find enough time in future, so it's not a promise but more a wish at the moment.
