No. I followed the desciption on Achim's page (the FAQ), and Øystein also
confirmed my steps taken. So I believe I shouldn't need MinGW. But if it
might help I can give it a try. It will just take a little while to
download the 12 MB as I only have a slow modem connection.

To repeat the question from my last post: Is the file gnubg.res
important/necessary, and if, where do I get it from? (It appears in the
linker flags in Makefile.)

As I understood the text on the web site pkg-config can be used instead of
gtk-config. That's why I quoted this sentence in my last post. However, if
it doesn't help you anyway, then please don't mind my suggestion.
