When I play against GNU, sometimes 2 games in a row got identical dices. Is there something I can do with my settings to avoid this?
Hi, Peter! First of all: It's not supposed to be that way! This is highly interesting, since I have actually heard this from one of my friends as well. I have never seen this myself, but I guess there's something fishy with the computer. One theory I had was that battery of the computers internal clock was dead and the dice generator was initialised with the same seed for each startup. My friend who also had this problem, told me that games repeated them self even in the same session (ie. no restart). I'm not sure how this is possible but you should check that the dice generator is set to Random number generator. You can use Mersenne Twister. (In the menus you select Settings->Options->Dice->Mersenne Twister. Then press OK.)
If the dice generator is already set to Mersenne Twister, this is a bug! And I'm very sorry, I can't explain this bug. Somehow the seed gets set back to the samevalue after a game. How is that possible?
