Joseph, if you're reading this, could you contact me about your set of
test positions as soon as possible?
I was also thinking I could also add positions in books by Famous People
(Magriel, etc) to any existing test set (would also be interesting to see
how a deep-search gnubg differs from human analysis, or other computer
backgammon analysis).
I am making good progress on my backgammon program and hope to have a
tournament set up soon, between existing forward-pruned 3-ply (you call
2-ply?) search in gnubg versus star1/star2 3-ply search (no forward
pruning). I've been able to write my own code for everything except the
evaluation function (i.e. NN).
