[Bug-gnubg] SuSE-9 and 3-d

Hi all,

This weekend I installed SuSE-9.0 on a test system. Unfortunately
now 3-d doesn't work anymore (or not correctly).

All neccessary packages are installed:

OpenGL (Nvidia)
gtkglext(-devel)
ftgl

Config.log shows:

| #define HAVE_FREETYPE 1
| #define HAVE_GTKGLEXT 1
| #define USE_BOARD3D 1
| #define HAVE_FTGL 1

When starting gnubg I get the following error messages:

*** Cannot find OpenGL-capable visual.

(gnubg:2896): GtkGLExt-CRITICAL **: file gtkglwidget.c: line 225
(gtk_widget_set_gl_capability): assertion `GDK_IS_GL_CONFIG
(glconfig)'
failed

...

Texture base.bmp not in texture info file
Texture base.bmp not in texture info file
Texture base.bmp not in texture info file
Texture board.bmp not in texture info file
Texture hinge.bmp not in texture info file
Texture base.bmp not in texture info file

(gnubg:2896): GdkGLExt-CRITICAL **: file gdkgldrawable.c: line 141
(gdk_gl_drawable_gl_begin): assertion `GDK_IS_GL_DRAWABLE
(gldrawable)'
failed

The texture file is in /usr/share/gnubg/ (I put also a copy of it
into
~/). But I'm missing "base.bmp" and "board.bmp".

The 3-d error might be a problem of nvidia. I also have problems
getting a raw console on linux, when "nvidia.o" is loaded.

Any ideas?

Ciao

Achim

PS. I just checked the build with the xfree "nv" driver (in suse the
is a small script switching from nvidia to nv and vice versa
inclduing a switch of all neccessary libraries). Of course it's awful
slow, but it works. Maybe there are some changes in the Opengl
stuff.
