Hi, Joern,

The first message I sent you, back on Oct. 13, was also in HTML format;
now I understand why I never got a response. I have reproduced the
pertinent details of that message and the most recent one below, in
text-only format:

GnuBG V14.3 crashed with the following applet displayed:

Gnubg

This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.

GNUBG caused an exception 03H in module MSVCRT.DLL at 0167:7800f42f

There is still a bug in V14.3 GnuBG, in the executable dated Nov. 4,
2004. I got the following error in a recent 7-point match:

********

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Assertion failed!
Program C:\Program files\GNUBG\GNUBG.EXE

File: play.c
Line: 1801
Expression: !fComputing

********

I was then presented with an applet with the choices Abort, ..., Ignore.
I chose "Ignore", and the program allowed completion of the move, then
died with the following error message:

********

Gnubg

This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.

********

I am running Windows 98 SE on a PC with an AMD 450 Mhz CPU. If you need
additional information, please let me know. I would like to help solve
the problem in any way I can.

Regards, Ron Barry.
