The idea is fine. However.... this is a lot of work.

I strongly believe it is not worth the effort to convert everything to Qt.
It will be like writing the whole interface all over again and just keeping
the evaluation functions.

I rather think we should improve the existing interface in GTK2, and
concentrate on modernizing this according to HIG. As I have advocated
earlier I believe we can remove the compatibility with GTK 1.x versions.

Of course you are free to rebuild the interface with Qt if you like. Maybe
you will be able to do this with Qt Designer? I can even set up a cvs
branch for you.
