hi

I have some new info.

if I use eval threads = 1, the match finishes without any problem.

if I use eval threads = 2, the gnu crashes with error message below.

this is on a dual processor intel 930 chip.

hope this helps.

hi

I was trying out the new multi threads version build aug 3 2007.

while trying to analyze a match (with processors set to 2), I got this
error message:

**error** bearoff.c line 1702 (GetDistCompressed) assertion failed: (False)

tried running it again and got the same message.

thx

The most common reason is that the bearoff database has been
downloaded onto a Windows machine as an ASCII rather than a binary
file. The will produce a corrupt file (every occurrence of a byte with
a value of 13 will be replaced with two bytes with the values 13 and
10.

Can you give the size of your bearoff database files (the exact size,
such as 5180448, not 5Mb or 5180K or similar, for a one sided 15
chequers on 6 points database)
