Hello All,
I have been having a problem with the display of the 3D board in 0.16-devel. I usually recompile every couple of weeks with the latest CVS source and since the middle of December the 3D board has not been displaying properly. The last time I got a build where the 3D board displayed correctly was 12/05/07. I use Mac OSX 10.3.9 and attempting to set the appearance through the settings menu causes the program to freeze but I can change the appearance by entering the appropriate commands on the command line. This is not what I'm writing about though. When I select "Switch to 3D view" from the View menu the 2D view is still shown. In addition in the area between the bottom of the board and the data area (where the dice can be selected to show below the board) there is displayed many thin image strips which look like what you would get if you took a picture of the 2D board and put it through a document shredder. If a new game is started the appearance of the dice and the movement of checkers will cause the 2D image to start to be worn away with the 3D board showing beneath. This effect makes me think of what you see when you buy a scratch-off lottery ticket and you rub a coin on the surface revealing the image underneath. Further rolls and checker movement will cause more of the 2D image to disappear and more of the 3D image to show through. If one takes a checker and drags it around so that all of the 2D view is gone the GUI will not function correctly. For instance if you try to take back a move the checkers will not return to the previous position and in further rolls the checkers may or may not appear in the right place. The shredder-like images below the board happened the first time I noticed the problem with the 3D board, a couple of weeks later they went away and it was just the 2D view with the 3D view underneath, now the shedder-like strips are back. Also since I am writing, I noticed that in the file set.c you removed the line "#include <sys/time.h>" after the line "#if HAVE_SYS_RESOURCE_H" starting with version 0.16. GnuBG will not compile on my version of MacOSX without the removed "#include <sys/time.h>". I don't know if this is a problem with Tiger or Leopard.

Sincerely,
