Hi Loïc,

that would be great. The french translation is already started. What
you need is to download a copy of the poedit program and the french po
file, which you can get from here:

http://cvs.savannah.gnu.org/viewvc/*checkout*/gnubg/po/fr.po?revision=1.25&root=gnubg

just edit the po file and start translating away. You will notice that
the input strings may have a syntax like this:

"Time for start guess: %d seconds\n"

%d is the printf syntax. It means that the string expects a parameter
to be supplied by the program. In this case it is a integer number
(obviously a time in seconds). Other common possibilities are %s for
string, %c for a single character and %f for a floating point number.
It might also be more complicated like %3.2f, but in general you just
want to repeat from the percentage and up till the next letter. The \n
means print a new line and you want to repeat this as well. So here
the translation is

"Temps d'obtention du vecteur de départ : %d secondes\n"

Some of the translations will be marked as "fuzzy" in poedit. This
means that somebody has made a suggested or incomplete translation.
Often it will be the software, and the guess might be really bad or
even funny.

I suggest that you do a limited number of strings first and send the
result to the me or this list for review, so that we know everything
works. You are not obligated to do the entire translation. Just do as
much as you like and send us the result. As for the amount of work,
you will be able to see for you self once you have poedit and the
file. I don't think anybody else is working on the french translation
presently so you are free to choose what to translate.

Christian.
