I recently removed the fallback code, maybe it should be put back? It shouldn't
crash though, but a fatal message (like in the cli) isn't that friendly either...

I guess it depends on the number of users with old enough (windows) machines not
to have sse2 support, if it's very few then getting them to download a special
non-sse version isn't too bad.
