I found the "allow illegal move" in the options, and I also found amethod in the help file, using edit and ctrl keyboard button (see below), but none works.Either I don't switch to edit mode, and then I can't validate the move, or I switch and then when I finish editing, all the previous moves of the match are lost !
I may have broken the "using edit" method at some point (years ago) when I tried to avoid that repeteadly editing a position left more and more garbage records at the beginning of the moves list. Wiping out these records probably clears everything including legitimate moves.
On the other hand, I don't understand the idea behind "allowing" dragging checkers to set an illegal move but not letting it stand. What's the use of this feature ?
If such illegal moves were allowed (if the resulting position is illegal, add a "set board" pseudo-move instead of a regular move) this would be a more elegant way to enter them than the edit method, wouldn't it ?
