Yes. with awk and sort :)

Doing it in gnupod_search would need some work (and use more memory)

I don't plan to include such a feature before 1.0 is released.

But i'd be happy if someone writes a patch

Fixed in CVS version (using --view=)

Yes.. that's because gnupod_search lists songs as they appear
in the GNUtunesDB.xml file.

gnupod_addsong.pl --restore does just something like

gnupod_addsong /mnt/ipod/iPod_Control/Music/*

(Why did you do a restore?)
