Recent versions of GNUpod will run tunes2pod themself..
So you should never need it to run manually..

Yes, this would add all songs with more than 2 stars to this
smartplaylist (limited to 200 songs)

No, mktunes.pl only writes the SPL information to the iPod.. it does
not match/search songs and add them to the playlist.
The iPod does this (!), but this needs Firmware 2.x or newer..
Smartplaylists don't work on 1st Gen iPods .. (they would be silly
anyway, because 1st Gen iPods do not count 'playcounts' and you can't
rate songs)

Dont care about the 'plid' .. It's the unique ID of the
Playlist on the iPod..

Hmm.. the <smartplaylist definition looks okay and works on my iPod..

* Could you tell me wich iPod you own? Firmware version?
* How did you set a rating? On the iPod? Using GNUpod?

Bye
 Adrian
