AS far as the version I downloaded from your site
shuffle-02 the following happens
If i had song with gnupod and than use mktunes the ipod shuffle
update correclty as soon as I reconnect to a Mac (I have linux at work and
Ma c at home) all the song are deleted and the ipod is empty.
Without doing anyting plugging back to Linux and using gnupod_check
produces the output :
gnupod_check.pl Version 0.98 (C) Adrian Ulrich
> GNUtunesDB sync needed...
> GNUtunesDB synced
Pass 1: Checking Files in the GNUtunesDB.xml...
Pass 2: Checking Files on the iPod...
..finished

  Total Playtime : 0 h
  Space used     : 0.00 GB
  iPod files     :
  GNUpod files   :
 -> Everything is fine :)
All files are lost.
By the way the ipod changes name when using gnupod....
another side effect is that even if I umount the ipod its red light still
blinks. On the manual it says that one should not extract an ipod with
blinking red light but there is no way to make it stop.
My entry in fstab is:
/dev/sda1       /media/BiChopen auto    rw,user,noauto          0       0
and I mount it through nautilus double clicking on the media icon.
Hope this is usefull to solve the problem if you need further info please
let me know.
Ps I am running sid with kernel 2.6.9 k7 and downloaded the package
gnupod-shuffle02.tgz from your site.
Thank you
