GNUpod checks the header of each file you add.
In this case, MP3::Info reports that this file has an valid MP3-Header.
Because some versions of the iPod-Firmware won't play files with a wrong
extension, gnupod_addsong.pl changes the extension to make the iPod
happy.
* What does 'file track02.cdda.wav' report? is it 100% not an MP3? ;-)
(Yesterday, i found 20 .wav mp3 files in my collection ;-) )
* If gnupod_addsong.pl is to blame and the Shuffle won't play
this file, cd into
/mnt/ipot/iPod_Control/Music/SOMEWHERE/ and rename the file
extension. Don't forget to change the path entry of
/mnt/ipod/iPod_Control/.gnupod/GNUtunesDB.xml and run 'mktunes.pl'
If the file is really not a mp3, could you upload it somewhere?
BTW: Why do you add raw PCM-Files to the shuffle?..
I'd compress this files using 'flac'.
gnupod_addsong.pl can encode them into mp3/aac on-the-fly
using --decode (Needs lame / faac)
