First off, thanks *so* much! Your code makes using my ipod under linux a breeze! I'm very appreciative. I did find what I think is a bug in the smart playlist stuff. Here's an example;
In this case if i sync up and then look in the playlist menu, I don't see "SmartPlaylist Name" even though I know there are songs which match.
If I change to checkrule="both", still this doesn't show up. However, if change to checkrule="spl", the name shows up and all the appropriate songs with playcount=0 are in the list. But, unfortunately, not sorted by album, which is what I'd like.
