Could you post the model number? (a letter and 3 digits) 

I guess you mean the thing that apple calls "iPod shuffle (3rd generation)"?  
They didn't up the shuffle generation when they upgraded the 2nd generation 
shuffle from 1gb to 2gb.

Did gnupod find the fwid? Could you show the output of mktunes?
