Hi Franck,

the problem is known and fixed in the development branch.
It has also already been reported in ubuntu:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnupod-tools/+bug/372723

There is a patch that changes "udevinfo" to "udevadm info":

http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/gnupod.git/commit/?id=46cf7e92d6956b80c86e08baeef43f512afbdabf

There is also another fix that you should apply to make mktunes only scan
sd* block devices:

http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/gnupod.git/commit/?id=d9b0e13c2f930e06228331b68d9458d99b703493

Both changes are done to SysInfo.pm (a library that mktunes uses)
Please let me know if you need help making those changes.

As an alternative you can download the latest version of SysIno.pm here:

http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/gnupod.git/plain/src/ext/SysInfo.pm

BTW: You say you are using a 3gen shuffle. If that is the new "talking"
shuffle I'll have to dissapoint you right away. The database format of
those devices has changed and is not yet completely decoded.

cheers
