   Thanks to those who responded so far.

   I now have a prototype script which seems to work ok on a 10k+
tracks repository. It is not complete by any means, but it does the
job: you launch the script, it scans your local repository, and
deletes/adds tracks to the iPod accordingly. I now would like to add
support for covers and on the fly transcoding of FLAC files.

   Where shall I post the script?
