Hello everyone,
When I tried for the first time to use gnupod on another computer, I
copied ~/.gnupodrc and installed the same version of gnupod, 0.99.8.
I can mount the device on both computers, and add songs to the gnupoddb
on both too, but mktunes on the new computer doesn't do the magic - the
iPod says it has zero songs. Running mktunes on the old computer works
fine.
This is a 6th generation iPod Classic, and .gnupodrc is as follows
mount = /mnt/ipod
mktunes.ipod-name = ipodname
model = video
So now I'm looking for what might be causing this issue. mktunes detects
the right fwguid on both computers (and I even tried adding it to
.gnupodrc, anyway), "udevadm info --query env" returns the same
information for the device on both computers, and also reports the same
version (so it's not some udevadm upgrade which is messing it up).
The only difference I know about is the kernel version (I'll try running
it on the working computer to see if it is the kernel).
Anyone has ideas on things to check? On what does gnupod rely to know
how to write the iTunes file? I'd say "model = video", but is there
something else that might mislead gnupod?
