I suggest you to take a look at this project:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/portablefirefox/
I didn't look at it but I think that replacing orginal files with the iceweasel
customized version can help you.
On this page there are some tips to run firefox from a removable media

If I remember correctly it is related to the user home directory so it will be
/home/youruser/iceweasel.

I don't think that value is used by firefox.

No, I haven't but probably can help you to have less dependencies.

Look at the file .mozconfig, it contains a list of options passed to the
configure script.
