yes, I am using i386 version with older libraries.

If you think its really important then I will give it a try.
Otherwise, I don't see anyone using CentOS 4 anymore. Everyone has
switched to CentOS 5 and to me its seems like compiling from source
for my version will not do any benefit.

Would you like to use CentOS 5? If you don't want to install it, what reasons are keeping you from installing it? (example: little time)
