Hi

I've been using grub for a while (and I love it ;) ) and tonight I've
decided to switch to devfs

But I found a problem when I changed some things in my menu.lst file and
wanted to reinstall grub in the MBR ... it complains with:

grub> root (hd0,1)
Filesystem type is reiserfs, partition type 0x83

grub> setup (hd0)
 Checking if "/boot/grub/stage1" exists... yes
 Checking if "/boot/grub/stage2" exists... yes
 Checking if "/boot/grub/reiserfs_stage1_5" exists... yes
 Running "embed /boot/grub/reiserfs_stage1_5 (hd0)"... 18 sectors are
embedded
.
succeeded
 Running "install /boot/grub/stage1 d (hd0) (hd0)1+18 p
(hd0,1)/boot/grub/stage
2"... failed

Error 22: No such partition

grub>

that error ...
When I rebooted grub went mad and just said he loaded stage 1.5

I had to use a boot disc to boot my machine, and I could reinstall grub by
just booting without devfs

I've read in /usr/doc/changelog that grub has support for devfs.
I've tried both old and new (devfs one) device syntax in device.map file ...
all ending up in the same error

When running grub-install the error I get is more concrete:

/dev/ide/host0/bus0/target0/lun0/part2 does not have any corresponding BIOS
drive.

that's my / partition
does anyone knows what's the key to get this thing to work?
