Hello!
I am an argentine user of grub since the first versions, and last night I
was installing Debian 2.2 for the 5th time, and when I installed grub, I
wrote this command:
grub-install /dev/hda1 (where you can notice the hda1 instead of hda)
* hda1 is windows partition
* hda2 is swap linux partition
* hda3 is ext2 linux partition
the thing is that now I cannot boot windows because it has the stage1.5
there in the partition
fdisk /mbr doesnt work because it regenerates the master boot record for
the disk, not that partition
another thing is that dos fdisk reports the partition type as UNKNOWN and
I cannot read it under dos although linux fdisk says it is actually a
Win95 FAT32 (LBA) partition, and I can see it and Write/read onto it.
If I install lilo or grub in hda (without 1) it works for linux, but for
windows it reloads grub again and again (cause grub is installed in that
partition too, that s the problem)
I d like to know if there is a way to
revert the situation back. Thanks a lot!!!!!!!
