gordon, how do you want to go about this.

currently grub uses the changelog in the debian directory from what I
can see.  what I'd like to do is remove this dependency, and possible
even remove the debian directory from the upstream, that way I can
create a new debian directory which uses the debhelper tools, and a few
other things.  What do you think.

also I'm just screwing around with it at the moment and when I run
automake it breaks everything.
