Hi, I am trying to install grub 0.90 but haven't been lucky so far.
Setup:
2 identical 20GB harddisks (hd0) and (hd1).
Partitions:
(hd0,0) /boot ext2
(hd0,1) / xfs
and others, not relevant here...
My kernel is in /boot, the grubfiles in /boot/grub.
If I boot from a grub-floppy, and issue the command root (hd0,0);
kernel /vmlinuz-new root=/dev/hda2
my system boots perfectly.
However, when I tried to install grub on (hd0,0), it doens't work.
install tels me everything is file, but the system freezes after the
loading stage2 thing (or stage15 if I try one of these), with the
floppy light constantly on.
I fdisk'd /mbr my disk, so I am quite sure it uses the grub in hd0,0
Any suggestions?
