Multi-boot kernels and Linux

Hello from Gregg C Levine
Just for the record, I know that Linux normally is not a multi-boot
kernel. A while ago, someone mentioned a patch that was available for
patching a Linux-2.4.17 kernel so that it would be a multi-boot
compliant kernel. I have now downloaded a Linux-2.4.17 kernel source
code kit, and applied it. Naturally it applied without a hassle, or any
comments about creating a patch reject file. And now the question that
demands an answer: Has anyone successfully applied this patch, and
built, and then installed that kernel? I have no real need to know which
distribution this was built under, but it would be interesting to find
out that part. I myself am using, what I call, Slackware Pre-8.0. An
explanation for that name can be supplied upon request, just think of it
as the version before the actual release name. If anyone wishes to do
so, please do so, off list, as I want to keep traffic on that subject
down to a minimum.
