Help needed!!!!

Hi,
 I have a RH7.2 Linux desktop but my system administrator has the root 
password to my machine. A couple of days back this admin left our company and 
forgot to give anyone the root password of my machine. The new admin doesn't 
really know what to do in this situation. My bootloader is GRUB. For 
machines with lilo bootloader we can login as su by the command "linux 
single". Is there anyway to accomplish the same thing in GRUB?. I would be 
grateful if someone could help me here
