I am a (happy) user of GRUB with a dual-boot Linux and Windoze98
system. (Windoze is only there for my wife and for programs that don't
run under Linux).

I would like to set up a logic that toggles the default boot between the two
systems. i.e., if I launch Linux, then the next boot defaults to
Windows and vica versa. This reflects the most usual reason to reboot
and will allow me to go get coffee during a reboot rather than waiting
(and often missing) the splash screen.

In the old days of Lilo, I would set the default boot on Linux and
then use 'lilo -R' to force a one time boot to Windows.

I can't seem to be able to do this on Grub.
I can manipulate the grub.conf from Linux to force a default Windows
boot, but have no way of automatically getting back to Linux once I
have set the default boot back to Windows.

The command 'savedefault' could be used to achieve this goal if one
were allowed to say 'savedefault=<number>'. The current usage of
savedefault only allows you to perpetuate the current default and
doesn't enable a toggle feature.

Is there any way I can make this work in Grub?
If not is there any hope of extending the 'savedefault' functionality
as mentioned above?

Any other suggestions?
