Then, I suspect that GRUB isn't launched from your hard disk at
all. One possibility is the setting of your BIOS. Another is that your
hard disk requires "software BIOS" like EZ-BIOS and GRUB has
overwritten it. If your case is the latter, I think the manual of your
controller documents something about it.
