Sounds interesting. We are in the process of buying some of this kind of

It is there. You nust need to patch GRUB with some extra patches that are on 
the Savannah website. I've done it and it works fine for e1000. I am much more 
looking for support of the 3Com Gigabit Ethernet Cards (00:09.0 Ethernet 
controller: 3Com Corporation 3c940 1000Base? (rev 12) that are found as 
on-board NIC on many ASUS boards.
