We have got an UNDI driver, but it is still unstable now :-(.
On the other hand, there are still a lot of cards with buggy UNDI
implementations, which means that we can not trust the UNDI API all the
time, so we still need all these NIC-specific drivers even the UNDI driver
is OK.
P.S. I think UNDI driver will work soon. :-)

Subject: Why does Grub need NIC-specific network drivers?
Hello!
I would like to use Grub to boot my PCs via PXE. Every NIC that has a
PXE Rom also has an UNDI driver, so I do not understand why Grub needs
NIC-specific drivers. Could someone please explain me, why this is the case.
PXELinux is able to boot via PXE and does not need NIC-specific drivers.
Thanks
Alex
