Out of interest, why did this happen?

1. The ACTIVE flag indicates that your Windows should boot from /dev/hda1.
But are you completely sure that your Windows installation is not
on /dev/hda5, eg. rootnoverify should point to (hd0,4)?
2. Try booting from your XP cd, choose to start the Recovery Console
and try "FIXBOOT C:" or whatever.
