URL: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?func=detailitem&item_id=15120> Summary: GRUB menu not displayed Project: GNU GRUB Submitted by: None Submitted on: Thu 12/01/05 at 16:09 Category: User Interface Severity: Major Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: Action Request Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Name: Michael Studer Originator Email: address@hidden Open/Closed: Open Release: 0.96-r2 Reproducibility: Every Time Planned Release: _______________________________________________________ Details: GRUB version grub-0.96-r2 (via Gentoo) GRUB menu is not visible on the screen. Only a black screen is displayed. The menu options are available if you select them in the blind. System boots fine (if you guess the right OS to boot). After selecting the OS to boot the screen text becomes visible showing the boot up process. I tried installing GRUB via grub-install and manually and it made no difference in symptoms. PC has 2 video cards installed. One is native on system board but is not used and displays no video at any time. The main one is Nvidia based. _______________________________________________________ Carbon-Copy List: CC Address | Comment ------------------------------------+----------------------------- ab6cv --AT-- sbcglobal --DOT-- net | Originator Email _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?func=detailitem&item_id=15120> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/
