Details:

This error applies on version 0.97, 0.96 and other earlier versions. I don't
know why this command isn't working, but the help of grub contains
imformation about this command which let me think, that this command should
work - but it don't work.

I tried ths following command sequences:

- savedefault
- savedefault 3
- savedefault --stage2=/boot/grub/stage2 --default=3 --once

but ALL these commands produces the same error:
Error 27: Unrecognized command

Don't know whats wrong.

My System: Gentoo Linux
Kernel: 2.6.11-gentoo-r7
compiler: gcc-Version 3.4.4

grub.conf:
