Hello.  We are trying to use grub to fetch a remote menu configuration with machines using Broadcom bcm5751 network controllers.

We are currently running GRUB 0.94 from SuSE's SLES9.  Out of the box this has no tg3 support.  After doing some searching we found a tg3 driver for 0.94 as well as one for 0.97.  We have tried patching SuSE's 0.94, a stock 0.97 tarball and SuSE's 0.97 RPM and patched those.  So we have three grubs with "support" for tg3.  Results varied greatly between them but none of them worked.

The patches we used against 0.94 were 'grub-0.94-1-0001.patch' and'grub-0.94-1-0002.patch' which were found here'https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?func=detailitem&item_id=6690 '. The patch used for for 0.97 was 'grub-0.97-nic_update-2.patch' which we found here'http://ftp.jg555.com/netboot/patches/grub-0.97-nic_update-2.patch '.

Are there any known working versions of grub that have support, either natively or via a patch for the Broadcom bcm5751 network controller?

Regards,
Nicholas
