Details:

Grub's message "Welcome to GRUB!" appears before anything in load, then the
background and menu (if configured), but that's very annoying to see this
message anytime, so I end up making a patch just to disable it.

I wonder if this is needed any longer or if it could be somehow configured to
not be shown.
